Club Story

This year (2023) we were very lucky to be able to return to the Omatua Camp in Rissington, Hawkes Bay. This area was devastated by Cyclone Gabrielle.  The owners of Omatua have done an amazing job getting the place cleaned out and ready to open again. The floods wiped out the lower levels of the property and as the waters receded the mess that was left behind was unimaginable.  Tonnes of this sticky, heavy mess was removed and it was used to create a whole new level area between the accommodation block and the river.

Sensei Jen Sigley (Godan), led the training and took a successful Kyu Grading. Our thanks to Jen and Pat for driving up and their continued support of our annual camp. A lot of fun was had by all.
